Today we learned 5 new vocabulary words across all of our subjects! Ask your child what the following words mean.
- apostrophe
- perimeter
- possessive
- longitudinal
- transverse
We started out our day by practicing writing paragraphs while writing in our journals. Students are getting much better at organizing information into properly formed paragraphs!
In phonics, we learned about possessives and when to use an apostrophe.
In math, we learned about perimeter, why we would need to know it and how to figure out the perimeter of a shape.
In science, we used slinkies to help us learn about the different types of waves, transverse (light) and longitudinal (waves). It was a very fun activity and the students were excited to get to use slinkies!
