Today in math we began our measurement unit. We used snap cubes to measure a variety of things around the classroom including a bulletin board, the door, the table leg, the desk, a marker, and themselves! Tomorrow we will look at our data and see how non-standard measurement can help us out.
In science we began talking about sound waves and how they travel. We did a little experiment where we whispered, spoke in a high pitched voice and then a low pitched voice to feel the different vibrations when we spoke in those different tones.
In language arts we got into our reading partners and read the first chapter of our new novel study called How to Eat Fried Worms. We also answered our chapter questions. Ask your child about the hamburger paragraph fan books we created today.
REMINDERS/UPDATES
- many children are riding books and scooters to school. Please ensure that your child is equipped with, and know how to use a bike lock to ensure that nothing happens to it during the day.
